Hello!

My name is Yanni (also known as John) and I am a photographer from Adelaide, Australia.

For as long as I can remember I was always drawn to the visual arts. Although I performed well in school I always had a particular interest and flair for art and design. When I finished high school I went on to study at the University of South Australia where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree and graduated in Business Management with a Major in Marketing and sub Major in Commercial Law. My Bachelor’s Degree afforded me great professional opportunities and for 14 years I was employed with South Australia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In 2009 I started to experiment with street photography when I visited the USA. Ever since then my love for capturing images of people and the world continued to grow. I established my events and wedding photography business in 2016 and in that same year I was successful in gaining employment as a photographer with one of Adelaide’s leading luxury car dealerships where I photograph iconic car brands including Aston Martin, Maserati, Audi, Alfa Romeo, Volvo, Landrover and Jaguar. To this day I am still photographing this incredible range of car brands!

So after being asked to photograph events for friends and family things began to pick up pace and one thing lead to another. With a combination of hard work, luck and referrals Yanni Stath Photography was born!

The thing I like about taking photos is that you get to freeze time. You get to experience a moment again when you look at a photo. I love capturing moments that end up shaping your own life history and I love the sentiment and artistry that can be found intertwined in photos.
